This commission presented the unique challenge of cladding a 25 metre high tower, and a four metre diameter rotating glass globe in stained glass. The time allowed for design and manufacture was only 5 weeks. The opalescent coloured glass was manufactured using ceramic printing and firing techniques. The large vertical panels are supported by a comprehensive stainless steel reinforcing system, invisible from the outside, even when backlit.
